Synopsis: Based on a true story, the film stars Keira Knightley as Loretta McLaughlin, a newspaper worker fired by boss Jack McClain for writing about “women’s issues”, such as whether new gadgets are good or not. She aspires to be an investigative reporter like the men on staff, even investigating the stories she writes for inspiration. Loretta found something her male colleagues had been missing—an apparent connection among many female strangulation victims. After Jack begs her to let him dig into her theory, she agrees, but only if she agrees to work with another experienced female reporter, Jean Cole. From there, the Boston Strangler tells how the women are stoned by the police because of their gender, how they get help from a sympathetic detective and how they get chased by the dog.
