Synopsis: X 2022 film is based on Tobe Hooper’s masterpiece The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Ti West, the film’s writer-director, made certain that X was packed with slasher cliches, bringing little innovation to an already oversaturated genre. It does succeed, though, in developing characters with individuality. Maxine, played by Mia Goth, is clearly disturbed, yet she believes she is a celebrity. Brittany Snow’s Bobby-Lynne comes across as the more clever, seasoned porn performer. Jackson is a Vietnam veteran, and Wayne and RJ keep an eye on the obscene production.
